The participation of the entire social, economic, cultural, and institutional ecosystem has been fundamental for the drafting of the Adeje Urban Agenda, and this has involved an internal and external participation process. In this way, it has guaranteed that the lines of action and work to be developed are inclusive, sustainable, and effective. The involvement of local actors is again a key aspect, both in the creation of the document and in the subsequent implementation.

During the drafting of the agenda, several participation sessions were held. The first of these, which involved politicians and urban planners, served to initiate a shared reflection on how sustainable development for Adeje should look in the future. Additionally, several participation sessions were held with businesses and residents, involving them in the construction of the future development of their city.
